Bio
Christophe Delacour is the French ambassador to the British Ministry of Magic, and a character in the [info]civilitas RPG.

Christophe would like to think of himself as reserved, calm and collected at all times. In reality, he often loses his temper, and control of his sarcastic tendencies, in times of stress; spectacularly so at times. A firm adherent to the idea of Realpolitik, when assigned to the French embassy to England, he resolved to work for his own good, and for that of his country. Extremely fastidious, he is obsessed with good manners and correct form; nothing annoys him more than the vulgar or the nouveaux riches, despite the fact that his own family's wealth is of relatively recent origin. He can be an extreme hypocrite, and he wouldn't know the meaning of the word 'morality' if you hit him over the head with a dictionary. Despite this, he is a devoted father to his child, Fleur, who is nearly four.

Born on 20th November, 1940. The Delacours are an old wizarding family with pretensions to being pureblooded; however, the dual necessities of money and of alliances have brought about many marriages with both half-bloods, Muggle borns and, as in Christophe's case, with a half-Veela.

He was educated at Beauxbatons from 1951 to 1958. On leaving school, he joined his father in the Ministry. Due to a combination of skill, backstabbing, and sheer brown-nosing, he soon rose far above his father, much to the breakdown of family communications and an abrupt break in the exchange of cards at Christmas.

In 1972, he married Alexandrine Lamoureux, a half-Veela whose considerable charms were added to by the fact that her father was one of the wealthiest wizards in France. Nonetheless, as with many marriages, their affection for one another is increased by separation. Their first child, Fleur, was born in 1977, and has Christophe firmly wrapped around her little finger.

His personality, combined with his linguistic skills, soon ensured his transfer to the diplomatic section of the French Bureau; that very personality, however, also ensured that his career stalled for a few years owing to a personality clash with Mme de la Roi, the French Minister for Magic. When the opportunity arose to take the post of ambassador to England, he jumped at the chance, even though the post was regarded as something of a white elephant due to the ongoing internecine warfare in the English wizarding community. He views it as an opportunity to improve his position in the French Ministry.
